Personal background
I am from a small town in west-central Arkansas by the name of Rover. I love small-town live and have lived here on-and-off practically all of my life. I traveled extensively in my 12 year stint with the U.S. Army, including two war-time tours. I have also worked in large cities with a major utility company in the past, but always come back to the country.
I have always been a fairly avid amateur astronomer, with a passionate interest in the mysterys of the galaxy.
I am currently an apprentice electrician with plans to start working for myself a year or so after earning my Master license. Whether I want to or not, I must have a very decent paycheck for the next several years. The reason for this is that my larger than average family consists of my wife, Jody, myself, and 4 little girls. I have nightmares of how I am going to put them all through college, buy them their first vehicles, etc., etc..
Donations are happily excepted. Thank you.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have always thought that ET does exist, although I do believe, unfortunately, the discovery is far in the future. Perhaps over a hundred years from now. BUT it would tickle me to hear from them tonight!!
I heard of SETI@Home a couple years ago on TV, but forgot about it until stumbling across it on the web. To me, it is one of the most worthwhile projects in existence, just short of research on improving the health, freedom, well-being, & safety of life right here on our world.
I do believe very primitive life once existed on Mars, & perhaps on 1 or 2 moons, namely Europa. Whether it still does, in my opinion, is doubtful. However, I simply can not believe the Great Architect only saw fit to place live in this solar system alone.
We should never give up. The truth will show itself one day.
