Personal background |
I am 18 years old and currently enrolled in a Computer Science curriculum in college. I have a wonderful girlfriend named Jessica, who can be seen in my photo. I have been running for about four years, and while I'm not very good, I enjoy it immensely and it keeps me in shape. I am also a music-aholic; while I am so tone deaf that any attempt to even try to play a musical instrument results in total catastrophy and humiliation, I am addicted to listening to music and probably wouldn't last two days without it.
I used to be quite a gamer; as a matter of fact, that is what sparked my interest in computers. I upgraded my computer solely for the purpose of playing new games better. When I got my first "good" computer, a K6-2 350, I installed SETI@Home. Since then, S@H has been installed on all of my computers, ranging from my next CPU, a Celeron 466, to my current AthlonXP 2000 . |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
It is my strong opinion that there is some sort of extraterrestrial life in the universe. Our universe is a very large place, and our planet, our solar system, even our galaxy is just one of millions. I do not feel that human beings are "special" or that our existing was an act of providence, but rather an act of chance. It is just chance that this planet, in this solar system, in this galaxy had the prime characteristics to support life and evolution. It is also my opinion that these conditions have been met elsewhere. In a universe of such staggering size, it is insanity to believe otherwise. |
