Profile: Pierre-Étienne Messier

Personal background
My name is Pierre-Étienne Messier and I'm from Saint-Alexandre, Québec, Canada. I was born in 1985. I like computers, astronomy, sciences, stuff like that. I plan introducing myself into astrophotography, so I hope you'll see pictures soon ! You can go to my website (http://www.pemessier.fr.st/). And yes, it's in french because my main language is French, this is why there is a lot of spelling mistakes in this message :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestial life exists somewhere because it's unthinkable to think that we are the only one planet with life in that big universe. I think we will discover it far later but it's worth the try to search for it now. If we can contact others, I don't know the benefits/dangers of the discovery but for sure we have to make peace before, otherwise we can't make peace with someone else on another planet. If we transmit a beacon, we should make a pulse or other intelligent emission of data because no one knows english, french or other languages outside earth ! Finally, I run S@H for the science. Heck, why pay for mega-computers when home-computers, when idle (like mine whle I'm in school) can do the job ?
