Personal background
Hi Dr. Trowbridge here...
I started a few years back with only a 486 w/16 bits of edo. I have progressed a bit from there. I'm now running several computers none under a gig. I have just begun to crunch!
I graduated from Ithaca College in 1991, with a degree in music education, somewhere down the road I picked up an MBA and a Doctorate as well, but I don't count those. I love fishing, hunting and building computer systems.
I've always had a dream of converting a few old satilite systems into a home based radio observitory. My favorite movie is Contact but don't plan on stalking anyone from said movie soon.

Thanks,
Steve

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does extraterrestrial life exsist? Of course it does. Not to sound like mr. spock but, logic dictates it.
I run seti@home because it's a good investment in our collective future. The only suggestion I have is perhaps alowing the program to run faster. Having said that, I can only imagine the amount of data SETI@home crunchs.
I belive we have a long road ahead of us before we make contact with other life-forms. Think of it, 15 years ago we thought digital watches were cool.
We should keep looking, go fishing as often as possible and try to be alittle bit more kinder too each other.

Peace,
steve
