Profile: Muerte el Gardino

Personal background
Hi! I'm a 24 year old student from Delft, the Netherlands. Next year I'll graduate at the Technical University and become a civil engineer.
Since the projects I'm involved in keep getting bigger, and the programs I have to use demand more and more computing power, I recently bought a P4 2400 MHz with 512 RAM. I've been with SETI since September '99. I used to complete a work unit in over 100 hours (P 166 MHz, 48 RAM), now I only need about 4 hours to finish it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If there is life out there, I think it will be less advanced as we are now. In my opinion we're the first to reach the technological level required for space exploration. If this is the case, and we discover life somewhere, it'll probably teach us a lot about the origin and development of life on our own planet.
The reason for joining SETI: Mostly because I like the idea of combining small amounts of unused computing power for some greater cause, in this case SETI. It can prove to be very useful in the future to be able to do these kind of things.
