Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course extraterrestrial life exists - it is simply a matter of time when clues will become apparent. The notion that we are unique in this universe is somewhat outdated.

A beacon to announce our presence is a noble and important idea that provides one additional step in the search for other life. Logically, the beacon should transmit a simple mathematical equation.

There are many reasons why I continue to run SETI, some of which are:
a) The satisfaction of belonging to a group of like-minded persons
b) Eliminating idle CPU
c) The desire to truly be part of something that will prove, in time, toi change humanity's view of existence.

The project itself is simple, effective and well worth the added CPU cycles.
