Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, but it may last another 20,000 years to discover it. Possible benefits could be to learn more about life in General, such as other biological systems, science techniques or about other societies. Dangers could be: Aggression against us, deseases from other planets and the lost of our existing religious thoughts.

2. Why not? Video and music from our planet to document the way we live.

3. No specific reason. Might be that I am only curious.
