Personal background
freelance web developer running seti@home on a p4 2.4, 256mb ram, blah, blah, blah. born and raised in nevada; probably overexposed to radiation contamination from past nuclear tests. i've always been fascinated with area 51 but i think it's more of a red herring than a repository for ET evidence.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
i'm certain ET life exists, but i don't know how likely it is that we'll discover any signs of it--if ever. this is not to say that we shouldn't continue searching. i don't think we possess the technology needed to discover ET life. if we ever find ET life, i think it will be more similar to the motion picture 'Signs' rather than 'E.T.'--it just doesn't make sense why hyper-intelligent life forms would care to befriend Earthlings.
