Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that extra terrestrial life does exist. The odds would indicate that it does. I think that there is an even chance that it will be found by searching rather than by chance. Indeed, we may have been found already. Some warn about sending a beacon announcing our existance. They forget, ever since Marconi started sending a signal across the Atlantic to St. John's, Newfoundland and Labardor (see www.gov.nf.ca/marconi/index.htm), we've been announcing our presence to the universe. Maybe seeing what humans are like from the pictures of World War II, Korean, Vietnam just to name a few, they might not want to visit. It might be them who will be afraid to send a beacon back!

Even if they are afraid, I hope to be part of the worldwide team (see, human can work together!) looking for others!
