Profile: Oakwood Library

Personal background
This account is used for the computers in the library at The Oakwood Secondary School. The library holds a collection of approximately 10,000 volumes and 60 periodicals. Oakwood is a K-12 coeducational independent day school, founded in 1951, where young people prosper in thought and imagination, in competence and character, as individuals and as members of a school community.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When asked why the library should run SETI@Home, I answer "Why not?" These computers have 1,000 times the processing power that computers five years ago had, yet they are used only for trivial tasks such as web browsing and word processing. Instead of wasting processor power, why not use it for something useful, such as SETI@Home.
