Personal background
Since time immemorial I have been obsessed by the extraterrestrial so Seti at home was an apportunity to do something about it instead of reading or thinking.
I was born in Belgium and work as an IT professional in Suriname. I have only one serious(passion) hobby: learning. As a certain author I know would say, my religion forbids me to tell my age.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would not be participating in the program if I didn't believe we're not alone. I also believe that we have already been discovered so transmitting a beacon is totally unnecessary.
This having been said, one seti user in Spain thought that the bandwidth of the frequencies being scanned was too narrow. How then did SETI select the frequencies and why. One more thought: does a practical way exist to scan other frequencies besides radio?
