Why do you run SETI@home?
The technical background is a very impressing thing. Connecting computers worldwide to calculate is a complex and quite interesting thing. Also it does not need much ressources so I can run it all the time in background - so why waste system-ressources if you can do something usefull with it?
Thoughts about ETI
Somebody said: "If we are the only ones out there in the galaxy there's so much space wasted" - and I guess he's right! I strongly believe anywhere out there must be other living lifeforms. Sooner or later we will discover them, if they did not discover us already! Knowledge is always usefull so we should try to search space for them and also transmit our own signal. I don't believe there's a need to frighten - the only reason people are frightening is that they think about the thing, that humanity may not be as technical high developed as thought till yet...
