Profile: Shredder

Personal background
I am a Dominican friar in formation. I am currently in my philosophy studies. I enjoy sports and exercise, reading, cooking, and putzing around on the computers in the priory. Edward is my baptismal name, Dismas my name in religion.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am not very convinced extraterrestrial life exists. I don't think it's impossible, however. What interests me most about SETI is the potential of distributed computing to advance science.

Should we send a beacon for others to find? Certainly! I am quite willing to be proved wrong. Hopefully, they're not trying to decipher our signals on Pentium-equivalent level machines on their homeworlds. :)
