I enjoy homebrewing and am a member of the Knights of the Brown Bottle, a homebrew club in Arlington, TX. I am also the club webmaster, a task I took on almost 9 years ago. You can visit the club web site at http://hbd.org/kobb/
I am presently working for a custom sheet metal shop in Dallas as a machine operator.
I am single(divorced) and I have one daughter, age 31, who lives in Oklahoma.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.) Yes, I believe they are other life forms out there. The universe is too vast for there not to be. I don't have any idea when or if humans will ever discover extraterrestrial life but I hope it happens in my life time. It could be very beneficial to humans as other beings may be far more advanced than us and may have the answers to our problems here on earth that we haven't or can't figure out yet. If we approach them with respect and dignity it should be safe to meet ET.

2.) Yes, we should send a beacon into space for others to find. The information should relay what life on this planet is like, along with a message welcoming all to visit us in peace.

3.) I stumbled accross SETI a few weeks after they started the project while doing a search for space related web sites. It sounded interesting so I downloaded the software and have been running it ever since. I recently upgraded to a faster computer which in turn lets me process the units faster. It used to take me 7-10 days to process one unit. now it takes under 24 hours. I think it's a great project and I hope they can continue it indefinately.
