My name is VIGOSAMA. I live in one of the corners of the word, Mexico City.
Let me tell you this is a great place to live and die...
As you should know Mexico City is one of the most populated cities in the world and pollution is a big problem. I used to collect old PC from really big garbage dumps and connect them in a primitive wired network to run paralell applications.
Sounds like a weird hobby for the garbage man?
Not at all in Mexico City !!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI was the first thing I ran in a distibuted heterogeneous enviroment a long ago. Since then I been hacking source code like BOINC for distributed computing applications and its fun.
About the big question of extraterrestrial life its amusing how movies influence the answer. I have not big expectations in a intelligence beyond our capacities and would be intersting be there when it happens. Maybe in a far future when our communication technology evolve in to a new physical layer.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
