I play the alto saxophone in the school band.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that extraterrestrial life exists because the universe is of infinite size and our planet earth only takes up the tiniest fraction of space. I think humans will discover it eventually probably whithin the next century but I dont think we will be able to efficiently communicate with other lifeforms for quite a while. When we can however I believe it will have great technological benifits just so long as we can maintain peace with the extraterrestrials.
I think we definitly transmit a beacon describing our planet and telling anyone out there that we are willing to meet.
I run SETI@home because I think it is really cool to personally be part of such an amazing project. Searching for alien life is really amazing and I would actually consider a career in this line of work.
