Personal background
Yeah, so righ now I am in my 3rd sophmore year at Stevens Tech. in Hoboken, NJ. Third year, because first was my sophmore year, then super-sophmore in my 5-yr program, which was interrupted by a leave of abscence for medical reason. SO, the 3-years isn't as bad as it sounds, right? Right?!
Ok, so I'm a Mech. Eng major. I play paintball, bungee jump, wanna skydive and enjoy doing pretty much anything. Why am i doing this for seti? I have no idea, other than I got the urge. Anything else interesting? Nope, prolly not. Ok, so I'm gnna go get a beer and watch the pretty graphs...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Personally, I think that more than likely there is ET out there. But, I ave a fairly unusual take on it. Why is it always assumed that there are more advanced races out there? Like, liens comign to visit us and all. What if we are the most advanced race in the universe? Why is that so improbable or impossible for people to think about?
Should we be sending? I really don't know. It's not very high on my list of priorities, but I guess that's no reason for others not to.
Why do I run it? I guess I just have nothign better to do wit cpu clocks.
