Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I strongly believe, that there are several civilisations out there, just for statistical matter. Probably there isn't a chance for mankind to really contact them face to face even in a few thousend years of technical research, but i think humans should transmit a beacon for others, just to let them know: we are here, or better we were there, because of the distance ;-).
What information should we send? I believe it is rather useless to send some pictures, the code is to complex to be easily decrypted. It should be some mathematics, perhabs of higher value. Any alien will know, there is someone who is thinking about universe.
I hope aliens thought like me and send something similar and therefor i think it is a good thing to support SETI, just to avoid missing there massage.
