Profile: Jim Moore

Personal background
Hello, I am 39 years old, father of 5 wonderful children, software engineer from Lusby, Maryland. I have a beautiful wife who is also a software engineer, but not quite as 'geeky' as me. I enjoy working with computers as a profession, and also as a hobby. I enjoy learning new things and I try to keep up with technology. I love technology and gadgets. Other hobbies are auto mechanics, woodworking, and running.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I joined Seti@home back in November of 99 when a coworker was running it, and it caught several people's attention, including mine. I was first drawn to the idea of finding extraterrestrial life. (Still am.) I share many other people's opinion here that there is someone out there. I think we'll find them.
Later, after I ran Seti@home for a while, I was fascinated by it's achievements of linking so many computers, people, and countries together. What an awesome idea, simply genius! I had some trouble with BOINC when SETI first switched over and I stopped running it for years, but I'm back!
