hopefully when and if contact is made it isn't through the military, or government those sectors seem to live in a realm of constant paranoid-schyzophrenia, and would probably try to harm, lie or manipulate anything that they feel may be a threat to their ideals

i think that e.t's have been visiting us for millennia and perhaps had a hand in guiding us to where we are today
as for the beacon? well we have been transmitting signals for nearly a hundred years i think if they have been received that something would get an idea of what and who we are (anyone see Contact with Jodie Foster, god help them)
i run seti at home for my own personal amusement and assistance to the cause
i feel that this is a very worthwhile cause and should be supported |
