Personal background
I’m 23 yeas old and live in a small stupid Town in the near of Hannover, EXPO2000.
My Occupation and Hobbies are the same. I’m a Network/System administrator and spent some Weekends with the Organization of LAN-Parties and the maintenance of the Server and Network.
At this moment Seti runs on two Machines an AMD XP 3000 and an AMD TB C1200.
If the 64Bit Seti-client is more effective I would get a something like the Opteron.
I hope that kicked ass.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Hmm, i`m sure that extraterrestrial life exists if it`s intelligent I don’t know.
But sometimes I don’t believe that intelligent live already exists on Earth.
It’s only a question of time before we discover live, I mean hundreds or thousand of years.
If there are any benefits or danger, I guess everything could be possible. We could find the answer for every problem or the nail to our tomb.
What can we lose if we send a message in to outer space? But we already did that (TV, Radio and the Voyager)
Running Seti is for me something like a competition and it gives me the possibility to make idle CPU time productive.
That’s all folks, “live long and prosper”.
