Profile: John W. Bartley

Personal background
I'm originally from western Pennsylvania (hometown: New Castle), but have been living in western Michigan for more than 20 years. I'm a geology professor at Muskegon Community College. I enjoy travel, wine, cooking (and eating), and taking walks with my wife and dog.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I think it's a great way to make use of all that computer idle time. Instead of wasting energy on a screen saver, I'm contributing to someone's research. Besides, the SETI@home graphics are a lot cooler than most screen savers!
