Profile: Steve Morse

Personal background
Work for Oil & Gas Exploration Consultancy. All my Sun systems are now too old. I want to crunch more results but someone will smell a rat if I start running it during the day. Time for some big budget upgrades....to make us more efficient of course.

Enjoy Guitar, Classic cars, Diving and Belgium Beers (not together!)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home in the hope that I my name will be immortalised if one of my results comes up with the goods for the Project.

Not sure if transmitting a beacon is a worthwhile project. We have been transmitting radiowaves for years now so by default we have a ready-made beacon. Also by the time anybody replies to it and it comes beaming back to the world we will have forgotten what it was or won't be here to recieve it anyway.

By the law of averages there must be some form of life out there in the universe.

I am always puzzled as to why scientists always have to look to other places to explain how life started on Earth. Why should it have arrived here from Mars or on a comet. Isnt the Earth a good enough place to start?
