Personal background
My name is Shawn and im currently living in the eastern washington state area of USA. I am 22 years old. I have been working for a global corporation specializing in the creation of testing equipment used in the telacommunications industry. This I have been doing for the last 3 years. Up until recently i have been laid off do to the economic conditions here. I have made a life change and am currently attending college working towards a bachelors degree in engineering. My computer is a pentium 4 1.5GHz with 1024 mb of ram. Im always looking for ways of putting it to use, although im having a hard time finding applications to utilize its full potential.I've always been interested in space and everything out there.... what more could anyone wonder about? its indefinate! We will never know all there is to know outside this sphere, i think it would be impossible. And if we did, there would be no reason to be happy anymore. We thrive on exploration........
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe SETI is very good program that should continue. I belive the question if whether or not ET exists is rather simple..."OF COURSE". I would be a pretty ignorant human being if i tried to deny that fact. And I believe humans should transmit a beacon, but should also use caution when doing so. I know, as well as you how dangerous life can be to the things around it.(observe humans for instance) I would be much afraid to meet another species similar to ourselves. They would be unpradictable. On the other hand, I believe it is our duty to search, and its just the way we are as a species.
I run SETI@Home because I want to be a part of the exploration. Its exciting for me. I have a good view of the project. Think its great. The only thing that would be better is if more information was available..... Even though we may be only finding noises. What noises are we finding etc.
