Personal background
I'm 20,studying mechanical engineering at GIT,Belgaum,India.I've always wanted to be a fighter pilot, but ever since I was diagnosed with myopia, all my hopes of being that have gone down the drain.I am a part time geek(thats if you consider spending 5-6 hours on a pc geeky) or atleast my friends think so.I like to party with my friends, ride, play PC games, read books, and a lot of stuff that guys usually do.I hope to do my MBA/MTech in Canada, coz thats one place I would love to visit.I like watching the stars, and strongly believe in aliens, hence my interest in the Seti Project and I would love to make contact with them in whatever way possible.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I strongly believe that e-t life exists.Considering the fact that there are innumerable galaxies and innumerable stars in each galaxy ,its hard to say that e-t life doesnt exist. It is impossible to say that there is only one planet with the capability to sustain life. When we look up at the sky there are so many stars that we see,so much so that we cant even count them. Its strong possibilty that someone, somewhere on a planet around one of those stars might be doing the same, wondering about the same thing.
Though I know that only life sustaining planets, those with heat and atmosphere,etc..might have life on them,I sometimes wonder if that has to be the rule.Since there are many phenomenon in this universe that defy the laws of since,it makes me believe that even the so called dead planets may harbour life of some kind.It is not necessary that even e-ts have to breathe oxygen. It could be possible that some e-t life breeds on some other gas, known or unknown to us.
I would like to know the answers to the questions that I have in mind,I would like to see my beliefs being proved or even falsified. This will be possible when we make contact with an e-t life form.Hence I support the SETI project with all my heart
