Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. definatly yes !
I have no plan if we ever find ET at all
I guess if we do, our point of view will be changed forever.
I doubt that there will be a contact to ET so we can actually "speak real time" with them, even I don't think that ET will send a Enceclopedia Galaktika ;-) some sort of.
as shown on the Movie ID4 or serveral other, an evil alien Race may take this
as an advantage to dominate us.(Kill make salves etc.)

2. difficult to answer if you look at the risks, on the other Hand, if the ET we are looking for thinks the same as we do about the risks, why shoud ET send stuff out in the first place ?
I guess this will be a really randomly thing, seen in the Movie Contact, we allready send stuff out to Universe, even thought, the Power may be to less to be detectet somewhere much far away such as many Lightyears.
But if ET does have something like Radio or TV, maybe we will detect this signal same as they will do with our signal, so why send a special message via a beacon ? But if so, I think the plate on Voyager would be an Idea, or a beacon like the ET Race in Contact send. of course nothing the ET race shall build. You don't even know if what ever you make them to build, if this hurts them somehow, this would be a good reason for them to think WE are aktually the Evil Alien Race for them.

3. I like the idea I helped finding ET :)
there should be easier way's to find SETI@HOME at the SETI Homepage...
I had a pretty hard time finding the SETI@Home Homepage, was about to give up allready :)
more advertisements for SETI@Home, so more people stay using SETI@Home, maybe
some sort of backinfo to User, like the Programms where you can listen to the records of the dataunits someone actually calculates :) not this WAV convertation thing, like into SETI@Home allready with a checkmark -> listen to space or something would be neat :-)

I guess that should be it for now :)
