Hi terrestrials !
I am Satish here from India. I am a Software Engineer working with the
Oracle Inc. (India Operations). I am 28 years young. My main interest in
life is Music. I just love to listen to the music. These days I am trying
to listen to the Hindustani (Indian) Classical Music. My favorite rock
band is Pink Floyd. I just love to work on *NIX boxes... ranging from
Sun Solaris to Linux.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I hope the extraterrestrial exists ! About the time frame when to expect
an extra terrestrial being cannot be certain. It can be possible today itself
just after you read this lines or it might take still a thousand years to
make the first contact. But as Carl Sagan had rightly said in 'Contact'
'small steps ellie' ... small steps . But like Krishna said in Bhagvad Geeta..
do your Karma.... We have to keep on looking for them, and someday they might
find us or we may find them.
I seriously dont think they will cause danger to us. As a race who is
so advanced in technology will be spiritually very matured as well and they
wont mean no harms to us. Infact they might find us dangerous with our petty
problems all around the world. Fighting all the time for no apparent logical/
rational cause. Amusing ourselves all the time with our ridiculous deeds !
Definitely a beacon is a neat idea... and the voyager plaque and the
details inside are just right I think. But yeah obviously a radio signal
is much much faster than a beacon, so we should also be sending the radio
signals all the time in every possible direction.
I was always fascinated by astronomy since my childhood. And I owned
telescopes as well. And when I first bumped onto the seti@home site, I was
really thrilled to know about such a fantastic project.
