Profile: Let It Snow

Personal background
I hail from Syracuse, New York, where I design car parts to pay the bills and soup up computers with what's left. If only SETI@home existed 20 years ago when I had that TRS-80 Model III...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Are they out there? Are they Buggers, a la Ender? Mynocks? Real skinny naked guys with huge eyes? Brains and eyeballs in glass domes? Little brown guys with stretchy necks who drink beer and intoxicate their grade school friends? Glowing people who charter Steve Guttenberg's boat? Who knows? But if we find them, it'll change a lot of things.

My pal Bille and I have been running SETI for a long time. It was fun, watching the pretty colors, but then that command line client came out, and all hell broke loose. Now we're using blackout screensavers, cranking units on all our machines... heck, I've got all of my machines overclocked. I'd like to find an alien signal and invite them to come watch hockey with us, but surely my system idle time is spent trying to maintain or extend my 1600 unit lead on my pal.

I just broke the top 0.50%... Don't know where I'll max out, but I wouldn't mind being in the top ten grand! See you there!
