Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that this is a great idea! Of course space aliens exist, (I was once abducted by extraterrestrials and they performed all kinds of experiments on me...just kidding), the universe is too big for us to be the only intelligent life forms out there. I think we will discover them in my lifetime, at the rate we are going our technology is limitless. Yes, there are lots of dangers, they could be way more advanced than us and just want slaves or they could want our planet for it's resources or they could carry a terrible virus that wipes out all human life. On the other hand they could answer many questions and bring us closer together. Who knows they may show up and as a housewarming gift they could present us with the vaccines for AIDs and Cancer. We should be transmitting a beacon for "others" to find so we can communicate and maybe even one day get to meet them. The information we should send should be: "Hurry up and get here, we are BORED!!" I run SETI at home so we can hurry up and find these guys I only have about 60 years left to meet them. My only suggestion is more advertisement, so more people find out.
