| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

If we live in an infinite universe, it follows that there are many other life forms out there. It may be possible to discover other life... I would hope that such a discovery would be something of a motivating factor for humans to finally work together as a single unit.
I think SETI@home is a great idea... other research fields should take advantage of the same distributed computing approach. I run the software because I hope we can find signs of other intelligent life, and I want to contribute. It's not like I use all those millions of idle CPU cycles, anyway. :) |
