Personal background
Husband and father of four, amateur radio enhusiast for over forty years. Served a career in the service primarily in telecommunications as a signals analyst. Commercial endeavors include marketing of high-tech services, system engineering and software development.

Hobbies included experimentation using amateur radio hand-held radios with touchtone pads, for direct dialing in the 1970's (maybe it will catch on), spread spectrum communications in the 1980s, and GPS position mapping in cars in the 1990s. Favorite book, "The Shockwave Rider" by John Brunner.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There is always the slight chance of picking up incidental signals (ones not specifically intended for the blue planet), and that possiblity is enough for me to donate my excess clock cycles to SETI@home. More than anything else that I have learned about SETI@home, I appreciate the fact that we are offered an opportunity to contribute. Keep those work units coming!
