Personal background
I'm seventeen years old from Brantford in Ontario, Canada. Currently, I work at Woodbine walking hots and sometimes exercising race horses with the hopes of some day becoming a jockey. I love spending time with horses as well as programming and I run my own online business, which is - of course - horse-based (www.equination.net). Aside from riding horses and running my business, I do some freelance web-design and programming and try to get out and have a good time as often as I can :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that extraterrestrial life does exist, although I'm not certain when and how it will be discovered. I'm just going to hope that it doesn't amount to something that would be seen in Hollywood where they try to invade and obliterate the entire human race. Sending a beacon for others to find would probably be quite useful as it could very well be possible that they're trying to find us. Exactly what information should be sent is beyond me - I highly doubt that extraterrestrial life would be able to understand our language, but maybe a simple, steady, long pulse would be all that's needed for them to track.
I was told about SETI@home by a friend I work with. I think the project is a great idea and I think everyone that's a part of SETI@home does a great job :)
