Personal background
I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am 40 years old, and I am an employee. Currently my interests and/or hobbies are : Ancient Rome & Greece, latin language, and since I joined Seti@home last month: astronomy (I just bought a telescope a couple of weeks ago). Many years ago I was interested in aerospace. I love flying. So I enjoyed a lot when I travelled to USA and Europe.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I knew about seti@home because I am subscribed to a website dedicated to space(in spanish).
I decided to join seti@home several months after I knew about it. And I took this decision because I am confident that someday extraterrestrial intelligence will be found, and this gives me an opportunity to participate in this hugh and exciting challenge. Because the idea of finding extraterrestrial intelligence is really exciting indeed!!!!!!!. And the fact of participating in this project makes me happy because I found a way for collaborating in this hugh aventure. If you ever want to find something, then you must begin searching for it, don´t you agree ?
The fact that I am participating in this project implies that I do believe that there are chances that E.I. (extraterrestrial intelligence) can be found. After all the universe is too immense. If such a discovery comes true, it will be an extraordinary fact that will change history for ever. And all seti@home users will be like Christophorus Colombus discovering not America, but an entire NEW WORLD. Maybe such a discovery will make philosophers ask new questions. I am absolutely sure that this effort is really worth.
