Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm not sure why I run SETI@home, I think it is a good task for old PCs that don't have a use anymore. I think it is exciting to imagine this project detecting a signal from an extraterrestrial species in my lifetime. It took me a while to get used to this new version with BOINC and I'm wondering if it can run without the graphics? When ever the SETI graphic starts up, the fan on my processor kicks into high speed. Thanks for this opportunity.
