| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. I hope that there is extraterrestrial life.
But I think it will need a while before we found them ore there find us. I think lower life forms will be found earlier (maybe on mars???)
2. Yes, of course we shall transmitt a beacon
(why not, maybe some "aliens" have a seti-project too. hmmm . . . cool :-) ).
Maybe we can transmitt some simple messages or music.
3. I run seti, because what I think there must be something and what else can I do with a pc where only some office-applications and a webbrowser is running (on a pentium4-1700mhz). A little bit for fame too(e.g. more packets than other in a shorter time, its cool to half time of decoding because of a new pc).
I hope that we find any interesting signal which we must decode and get some message....
Suggestions: what is with an official caching and mapping tool (like setistash and log9x or so, big THANX fore these tools ) and a optimization mor the new cpu's (amd xp and p4).
