Profile: Shane Karstens

Personal background
My name is Shane Karstens. I started running SETI@Home while stationed in Camp Bondsteel Kosovo in 2000, while serving 9 years active Army.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI because I just can't bring myself to believe that there is some magical entity that created everything we see. Every Religion has too many flaws in it for me to consider ever again. That and it is a good way for me to check to see well my computer are performing simple number crunching.

I do believe that there is something out there. As they say, "It just seems like an awful lot of space for us to be the only ones."
