Of course there is Extrterrestrial life, but will they laugh at our jokes?
We already sent extraterrestrials a Chuck Berry record on Voyager, that should be a good introduction, ... but the television transmissions of the past 50 years is something that we are going to be very embarrassed about when we finally meet them. Oh yes, and we'll have to explain James T Kirk as well.
