Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Considering the vastness of the universe and the multitude of star systems, there must be some planets orbiting distant stars that are capable of supporting life, and some of these planets must have developed some form of life whose intelligence is comparable to ours. Although a response to any beacon we might send would never reach us in our lifetime, it should be done so that other intelligent life, which may be searching just like we are, can know of our existence.
