Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I believe it is just a matter of time and processing power to prove a signal is there.
I think that the project exists is fantastic and that anyone who believes it is a waste of time is foolish.
I run SET@home on both windows workstations and UNIX servers. I think it would perform better on the systems I have if it truly utilized dual and quad procesors as that is the majority of what we have here. In addition it would be nice if both versions supported setting a processor utilization level.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
