Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe intelligent life *is* out there. Why else would I be throwing so much computer time into this? I'm glad to have gotten the opportunity to help find such life. Then again, extraterrestial intelligent life may already be here. I don't mean to sound like a nut, but we are explorers ourselves and we've been to the moon. Why can't it be possible the other way around? Life out there have possibly been around millions of years and they have had that much head start compared to us. They may well have been coming and going and we have never realized it.

If we do send out a beacon, I suggest being honest about ourselves as we possibly can, the good and the bad. They will find out about us anyway so it's best we start off on a position of not having concealed fundamental truths about ourselves.
