Personal background
I've always thought that people who think we're the only ones out there in this big universe are a little arrogant and haven't done their research or just hadn't really thoughnt about things like that .... ;) For starters, just because we haven't discovered anything out there doesn't mean it's not there, and honestly, Earth can't be the only planet out there with life on it, when there are lots of other planets around! What a waste of space if we were the only ones out there!

Series I enjoy watching: Stargate SG1, Due South, Doctor Who, Torchwood, JAG, NCIS, Mutant X, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, SWAT Kats, Red Dwarf, Biker Mice From Mars, etc
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I've read alot about SETI and hey if I can't be there in person this is one way to help out...

2. I think the idea of this project is a good one, you never know what's out there and you have to use all possible resources to look for it. I'm sure that extraterrestrial life is out there, because to think that we're the only ones out there in the universe is more than just arrogant... Life is out there, as for how it will be discovered, only time will tell. Normally things like that have its benefits and bad signs as well. We just have to wait and see what they are.
