Personal background
I have been working since I was 14. I was born Nova Scotia, Canada. At the young age of 38 :) I have been a career fire fighter for 13 years. We provide (ARFF) Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, medical response, hazmat, anthrax threats and high angle rescue just to name a few. My heart goes out to all the family and friends that were lost in result of the Sep 11 Attacks on your country. I'm married with 3 lovely children a beautiful wife (Best thing that ever happened to me)and then there was the movie CONTACT!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The big question,is there life out there? I can only relate to the movie CONTACT. I think life does exist out there. There is know way that we are the only one's in this huge place. I'm not sure when we will discover it but I hope it happens on my PC ;). I only hope that warp drive is invented when we do, cause they may be so far away it would take years just to communicate back and forth. On the other hand they may be highly intelegent. How it's going to happen? That's just as big as the first question, who knows but hopefully we are taking steps in the right direction in finding this out. Should we send a beacon to let others know were here, well curiosity always kills the cat, I just hope their friendly. Just imagine the tecnology that could possibly be given to us it's unimaginal, unless they go by the Enterprise's main objective ;)I believe they did send out a probe years ago for ET's to find, I just can't remember what the probe was called or the status on it. It was however mentioned in the X Files. I run SETI at home for the same reason probably everyone else does, to possibly find an answer. This project must continue until we can fill our curiosity. The only thing I can say when it does happen, in one word is WOW!!!!
