Personal background
Tell us about yourself. You could tell us where you're from, your age, occupation, hobbies, or anything else you want.

I'm a middle-aged IT worker currently residing in the Western hemisphere who's finally found the secret to happiness: Find something you like to do and find someone foolish enough to pay you to do it.

Tell us your thoughts about SETI@home
Why do you run SETI@home?

Let's face it, I'm a Type A and I expect all machines in my domain to be equally productive. Wasted CPU cycles are the devil's plaything and I'd rather the machine be put to use doing something I choose for it than some snot-nosed 15-year-old with a penchant for recycling virus code.

What are your views about the project?

Eventually something will turn up. Of course, if we clean up things down here in the meantime (environmentally AND socially), perhaps we'll discover that they were hiding from us all along.

Any suggestions?

I suggest people take life a little more lightly. Intensity in one's pursuits tends to brand them a fanatic, rather than fantastic. (Yes, they have similar spellings, but vastly different meanings!)
