Personal background
I was born in Virginia, but only lived there for a brief time, then I moved to Pennsylvania, Maine and Maryland (where I am currently living and attending college). I am majoring in small business management, but I have been rethinking my course of study. I spend most of my time, other than college, working as a cook at a resturant. Other than that, I like to spend time working on my web site, reading books (Ray Bradbury and Neil Gaiman, to name a few), and maintaining my collections (I am an avid comic book fan, I also collect original comic art, it has become quite addicting).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do not see why in the vastness of the universe that we, humans, would be the only life form to exist. Whether or not it is possible for us at this time to be able to contact any alien life, it should be possible in the future. With our expanding knowledge of the workings of space, it could be possible to utilise certain formations that we do not understand, or do not believe to exist. Maybe one day it would be possible to travel through space with the aid of wormholes, which would make interplanetary travel possible. But this is not possible at this time, we can not travel to far away galaxies to detect life. However, we can make little leaps in our effort to make contact, such as the SETI@home project. It might be possible for us to make contact through these simpile means, but if we do not, at least we have made an effort.
