Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There is no doubt in my mind that there is extraterrestrial life. In what form and intellectual level is really the question that we need to answer. How we discover the first contact will surely be a grand moment but I don't believe it will be shaking hands with E.T., but more like you have a "Long distance call".

With the laws of physics the way we understand them, I see very little possibility beyond having communications which is not much of a threat. We have a greater possibility of erradicating ourselves before we are discovered by other beings.

As for transmitting a beacon, we've been doing that for nearly 100 years. As each year goes by we send stronger and more varied signals into space. With each one we stand a better chance of being detected. There is a possibility that we will be the ones who will be detected first. I just hope E.T. doesn't watch TV.

I heard of SETI through friends and articals as well as space programs on TV and I believe many hands make light work. (pun) Therefore it was an easy decission to sign on as part of the crew of Starship Earth & Terrestrial Investication.

There are over 4 billion souls on this planet, I wish I had the time to get to know each and everyone of you. Maybe in discovering terrestrial life, we will discover ourselves and know that we are them.
