Personal background
Hello,
My name is Sam Huffman and I live in Asheville, NC, USA. I'll be 36 years old on November 4, 2005, (11-04-2005). I have a very strong interest in space science and astrology, although I know very little about these subjects and I want to learn more; especially about the search for extraterrestrial life. I hope more people, that are lucky enough to live in a country that has computers and internet access, will help in the ongoing investigation of outer space and the search for advanced life forms from other worlds. I would like to tell everyone that is involved with this project, and any others similar to this one, "Thank you, for everything that you have done and continue to do, for the betterment of mankind through the exploration of space and the search for other forms of live outside of our world". My best wishes to all of the men and women that have dedicated their time and effort to these projects. I hope that someday their efforts will be rewarded with contact of some other advanced civilization on a distant planet similar to this one and ultimately culminating in meeting them in person. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Highest regards,

Sam Huffman / element599
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@home is the greatest thing since the spoon! It's my belief that someday mankind will use or expand upon this technology of sharing the search for anything, not just for extraterrestrial life, but anything or anyone so the world will be a better place. There may be some type of formula or experiment that could lead to the cure for cancer or AIDS if we combine the computing resources of the world in peaceful teamwork. There would be no limit to what we may someday achieve. Look out Star Trek, here we come!
