Profile: Michael O. McGinty

Personal background
I was born in California 1946. My parents moved a lot between California and Arizona. I graduated from High school in California and joined the U.S Army June 1966. October 1966, while stationed in Maryland, I was laying on the grass at night, enjoying the night air and stars. I then saw a large light appear, then it changed to red, and 5 small lights appeared from the large one. The 5 small lights then changed to red and went in different directions. I watched the large light and in approximately an hour later the 5 small lights returned and reamerged with the large light. The large light then just disappeared. Ever since this time I have been fascinated with the stars. I was discharged Honorably from the Army 1981 as a SFC (E-7). When I heard about SETI being able to be put on a personal computer while I was living in Alaska I then joined. I am now retired from Alaska Department of Corrections. I like to fish and Alaska is the place for that. I like working with computers even though my 12 kids know more about computers then I do.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I enjoy doing SETI and I try to tell others about it and ask them to check it out. I believe in and hope to find Extraterestrial Intellegence from another planet.
