Personal background
I was born in Southeastern Wyoming, and having moved away and experienced the world for twenty years, decided it was time to move back. My lovely wife, Julie, and I now reside in Sheridan, Wyoming.. which is North Central region.

We founded and own SoundGate, a company that specializes in adding aftermarket electronic equipment to factory sound systems. It's a small niche, but what the heck, it keeps us busy and is quite a bit of fun at the same time!

My hobby is building and flying large scale radio-controlled aircraft, and Julie likes landscape architecture and gardening. You may ask then, "What is she doing living in Wyoming!?" Well, let's just say she loves me a lot!

Take time to appreciate the wonders that are around you... if someone around you, less fortunate, is having a hard time... gently prod them to look up, rather than keep looking down.... a very small world exists at our feet... the whole of existence is above and around us.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When I was about six, my brother, a friend of his, and myself were playing in our front yard. For some reason we all stopped playing and looked straight up. There above us was a large silver, disc-shaped object... quietly hovering above us. It was close enough that I remember thinking that the surface was like hammered metal. The object slid behind a cloud and then was gone. I was too young to know what a 'ufo' was... if the term even existed back then... later experiences confirmed this first event.

This one event changed my life forever because I knew... I had seen... that we were not alone in the universe. This one event was the defining moment of what would become my entire belief system. My persepective on what may be possible for mankind is certainly wide, and encompassing of many "what ifs".... if only people would open their eyes, drop their egos, and move forward with the betterment of all as a common goal...

Mankind has already been discovered by other races... I don't think we have a lot to worry about with respect to "being discovered".

The reason I run SETI is because scientists have to provide some piece of evidence that clearly indicates the presence of others. For those of us lucky enough to have witnessed something firsthand, we already know. For those with an open mind, evidence is all around us. But for the sake of skeptics, and in defense of the scientific method, we do need to provide a 'bone of evidence', don't you think?
