Hi,my name is Werner Deisel,nickname'Boeck', born in 1939 in Kassel,Germany. As a 'Kid' I always looked at the sky and the stars, watching meteors etc., and I have only once seen the 'Northern Lights'. I think I was 10 years old, and did not know what I saw, until many years later. In 1960 I migrated to Australia. I have always been interested in Astronomy and Spacetravel,(watch Startrek ,Stargate etc.) and in 1964 bought my first Telescope(100mm refractor). Spent hours at night watching the 'Planets' and waiting for the arrival of ''Haleys Comet''.
My hobbies are music,love ambient and electronics(Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze etc),and some heavy classics..(Berlioz, Mahler and Liszt to name a few), Motorsport...like F1 -GP ,and growing orchids,which is my Profession as a Horticulturist...,and the last 3 years 'Computers'! Got one 'On' all the times and hope to connect a second one soon.
My son introduced me to 'Seti@home'and I'm totally ''hooked'' now, since I joined the 'Planetary Society', and I gave the ''Seti-bug'' to one of my daughters! |

Yes,I firmly belive we are not 'alone'in the Universe ,there must be more life 'Out There', most likely 'very different' in appearance from us !
And there are many 'Unanswered Questions and Puzzles'on earth...,like the 'Easter-island-Statues'?...,the 'Pyramids in Mexico and Egypt' to name a few! Some might have been here, started some 'life', built some 'structures'and watching us, and might come back to 'check up'? Are 'Humans' still too 'violent'?
If this is not so, then there will be some ''Contact'' one day, if only we can recognize it? We have to 'listen' into Space, and Seti is perfect for it, and keep sending more 'Space-probes' with 'Earth-info',and, who knows.., maybe some of the Mars-projects,wich are happening right now, will give us some 'Hints and Evidence' of life in the Universe!
No one can tell, how long it will take to make 'Contact'!
In the meantime, the ''Seti-Project'' must go on! |
