Profile: Mato

Personal background
Cynic, skeptic, and all around fun guy living the life in South Florida. Fifty-seven years old, accountant with psychology back ground, (stopped working in Mental Health facilities because all those people are crazy)strong training in multiple sciences, astronomy, physics, antropology, computer and technology. Enjoy reading history, building computers and analysing political figures. Extensive collection of live Grateful Dead shows both on tape and CD. Tattooed on both arms, back and chest. Favorite holiday, Halloween. Favorite movie Citizen Kane. Proud to be desendent from an ape like creature that figured out it was better to walk upright, take a risk, and steal meat from the lions than it was to hang out safe in the trees all day and be hungry.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti to prove that I will never discover alien life. It is my personal belief that the nearest sentient beings with the technological ability to produce a signal strong enough for us to detect is at least five to ten thousand light years away and it is possible that they could rise and fall, becoming extinct before their signal ever gets here.

But then again I could be wrong.
